Management

Julie Rouffignac

Julie Rouffignac

President

Originally from the Var region, in the heart of Provence, Julie Rouffignac built her career through hands-on experience, driven by a constant desire to understand every dimension of wine and its production. From 2012 onwards, she developed her expertise within the vineyards of the Côtes de Provence, multiplying practical experiences to refine both her palate and technical skills. Wine merchant, bottling line manager, vineyard technician, cellar master and actively involved in vinification, she acquired a complete and transversal vision of the wine industry, shaped by deep curiosity and a continuous pursuit of excellence. This versatility naturally led her towards oenological consulting, where she supported numerous estates between Cassis, Bandol and Saint-Tropez, combining technical precision, human sensitivity and an ability to adapt to the unique identity of each property. Driven by the desire to deepen her knowledge of the great wines of Southern France beyond Provence rosés, Julie later moved to the Rhône Valley and settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. There, she reconnected with the close relationship to estates she values deeply, focusing on vinification, cellar management and personalised support for wineries, particularly those committed to organic and biodynamic practices. In 2019, she co-founded Maison Rouffignac Lafont alongside Gérald Lafont, where she now serves as President. She supports clients in the development of their wine projects and brand identities, while also participating alongside Gérald in the creation of wines and blends. Through international trade fairs and professional events, Julie represents the identity and vision of the house to a demanding international clientele. Today, Julie primarily oversees the development of the trading and Home Branding activities of the house, supporting international partners in the creation of tailor-made wines and brand identities combining oenological precision, stylistic consistency and excellence in presentation.

Gérald Lafont

Gérald Lafont

Chief Executive Officer

Originally from the Avignon region and born into a family of winegrowers, Gérald Lafont grew up surrounded by vineyards and developed from an early age a deep sensitivity to wine, nature and craftsmanship. Alongside his father, he learned the values of precision, observation and respect for terroirs that still shape his vision of winemaking today. To finance his studies, he worked every year in cooperative wineries, progressively discovering every stage of the winemaking process. After several years studying natural and life sciences, he joined the prestigious School of Oenology in Montpellier, where he graduated in 2000. He began his career as an oenologist for a wine trading house in Languedoc, overseeing production and blending, before joining a renowned oenological consulting firm in 2001. For more than twenty years, Gérald has advised over thirty wine estates in France and abroad, adapting his approach to the identity, ambitions and terroirs of each property. His expertise extends across the great appellations of both the Northern and Southern Rhône Valley — including Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tavel and Lirac — as well as Languedoc and Provence. Alongside his consulting activity, Gérald also continues his work as a winegrower within the family estate, Domaine Arbousset. Managed with deep respect for the soils and the environment, a large part of the estate is organically farmed and extends across several emblematic terroirs of Southern France, from Tavel to Bellet, including Lirac and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Recognised for his technical precision, attentive approach and deep understanding of wines, Gérald creates cuvées defined by balance, freshness and elegance. Today, some of the Rhône Valley’s most acclaimed wines are the result of collaborations built on trust, high standards and a shared pursuit of excellence.
